Mickaylia and Kurt’s October wedding at Wallenpaupack Creek Farm in South Sterling, Pennsylvania was our jam. Fall – check. Alternative wedding – check. Bride with tattoos – check. Rustic and woodsy atmosphere – check. The bride even got ready inside a yurt that they provide on site next to some very serene cows!

We knew were going to have a blast with these two after photographing their Stokes State Forest engagement session a few months prior!

About the Wedding

The bride’s dress was Made with Love Bridal from Lovely Bride Philly and the bridesmaid dresses were from Revelry. Mickaylia’s vision was lots of greenery. A natural, rustic barn wedding in the Fall. The theme was “vintage-barn.” Colors were sage and champagne. She wanted lots of white pumpkins and fresh eucalyptus. Wallenpaupack Creek Farm’s acres of beauty and surrounding Fall foliage was the perfect setting.

Before the official first look, the bride wanted to do something silly first. She instructed the best man to put on a dress and have him be there when Kurt first turned around instead of her. This definitely got a laugh and calmed everyone’s nerves.

For their creek-side ceremony, the couple read their vows written to their sisters, as well as vows they wrote for one another. They are very close with their siblings, and we thought that was such a sweet gesture to thank them for being there for them on this big day. Mickaylia’s best friend and father-in-law married them as the two witnesses.

Later at reception they sang Happy Birthday to the bride’s dad for his 50th and to one of their friends, as well. The evening was casual with food trucks, a coffee cart, a s’mores bar & TONS of donuts. Oh and there was late-night pizza, too. Steve and I definitely filled up before the two hour ride back home! Haha. It was a chilly evening so the coffee cart was amaaaazing.

About the Couple

“We met on Twitter in 2014! Kurt was living in Palmdale, CA and I was in Bayonne, NJ. I got on a plane and flew to him after knowing each other online for about two months! The rest is history. We haven’t left each other’s side since.”
