July Wedding at the Perona Farms Refinery in Andover NJ Rish Abigail Bride Jenny Yoo from Bella Bridesmaids Chazmatazz Formalwear of Toms River

We were counting the days til Jess and Ryan’s July wedding at the Perona Farms Refinery in Andover, NJ. There were a lot of factors here. #1 We knew from our very first consult with these two that we were going to have fun on their wedding day. #2 I had an amazing time shooting them at their Island Beach State Park engagement session (where they first met at Bum Rogers!) #4 Our good friends Alexa and Nick of Folded Crane Films were also on the job. #4 Jason Jani of SCE Event Group was their DJ. Finally, #5 their wedding date was 7/7 so luck was in their favor!

The Details

Some other noteworthy vendors included their talented florist Bespoke Floral & Event Design who encapsulated Jess’s vision of floral colors that were neutral but warm, with quicksand, toffee colored flowers and greenery.
The always professional makeup team of Make Me Up Eva and hair stylists at Pro Styled Brides meant we were on time and all the girls looked naturally glam.
The bride’s dress was Rish from Abigail Bride in Asbury Park NJ, the bridesmaid dresses were Jenny Yoo from Bella Bridesmaids. The groom’s tux was from Chazmatazz Formalwear of Toms River.

The bride prepped at her parents’ home in Sayreville which was close to the ceremony at Our Lady of Victories Roman Catholic Church, which was Jess’s childhood church – also located in Sayreville.

From the Couple

“Hopefully the weather is beautiful for our day. [It was!] Ryan and I are really looking forward to portraits on the grounds of Perona – wooded area/forest, willow tree, lake. We LOVE being outside and I can’t wait to flex my dress on the Perona Property :)”

This Summer wedding at Perona Farms could not have been a more perfect day, we were able to use all the good spots such as the willow tree & swing, pathways and tree-lined orchard. The Refinery space is inherently industrial-modern chic & still a little rustic.

Even though it was so nice out, we still had to make use of the speakeasy room/bar, as well as the greenery wall in the ceremony area (especially since they did not hold their ceremony in that space, they still wanted to make use of it for photos!) If you don’t do a first look, that’s ok – as long as you leave us plenty of time to get creative in your venue space!

It was so sweet watching Ryan’s son help him get ready, he even had special cufflinks for him. Jess warned us she gets emotional, but it was so beautiful watching them all unify as a family.

This was a truly magical wedding day!

How did you get engaged?

On Cinco de Mayo the couple went up to Mohonk Mountain House in New Paltz for some hiking… and it rained. She still said yes and Ryan even had a tiny sombrero for her with a veil! lol!

They’re now expecting a child together, due this summer and we’ll be taking Jess’s maternity photos in June! It will be so nice to celebrate this next milestone again with them one year later!
