Jess and Ryan brought us to Island Beach State Park for their New Jersey engagement session! Admittedly, we’ve never been here before! We have a friend who has a house in Seaside Park that we’ve stayed down in a few times, so we were familiar with the area. But we had never paid the fee and driven all the way into Island Beach State Park – and I’m not quite sure what has taken us so long because it is BEAUTIFUL!
Coincidentally, this couple met at Bum Rogers which is right next to where we have always stayed. So we were already familiar with the area, but we relied on Jess and Ryan to inform us of the best and most photogenic beach spots. If you’ve never been to Island Beach State Park, you pay the fee and then can drive down the road to ANY of the beaches, it’s a lot like Sandy Hook. But everything is so overgrown and green. There’s versatility of the sand dunes but also vegetation. We had the most amazing sunset, to boot!
We hit it off right away with these two from their first consult. Ryan proposed on Cinco de Mayo while they were staying at Mohonk Mountain House in New Paltz, NY. He took her for a hike when it started to rain! She said yes anyway and the rest is history! We heard a tiny sombrero with a veil was involved – LOL!
We can’t wait for their wedding this July at the Refinery at Perona Farms!
