Kristin & Chris were married lakeside at Indian Trail Club in Franklin Lakes, NJ. Due to covid restrictions, the party continued at their backyard reception in Nanuet, NY.
It was apparent these two loved the outdoors when we shot their engagement session at Emmerich Tree Farm during Christmas time. There was no surprise they chose Indian Trail Club for it’s polished feel but natural views and laid-back vibes. We felt so sorry for them that they couldn’t do the full reception at the venue as they intended. HOWEVER, their reception did not disappoint. Scroll down for the most dreamy, candlelit tented backyard reception ever – as featured on The Knot!
Color scheme: Wine/burgundy with greenery. Outdoorsy with lake views.
“The vibe is pretty traditional as far as the ceremony goes. The ceremony will be outside (weather permitting) by the lake at Indian Trail Club. Our color scheme will be dark fall colors including dark green, navy, and merlot. The bridesmaids will be in a mix of all three colors and the groomsmen will be in navy with merlot accents. We would really like to show of the beauty of nature in our pictures by the lake. Our family is also very important to us and will be highlighted throughout the ceremony since my dad will be marrying us. Chris’s dad will be his best man. For the reception, we will also be outside at my mom’s in a tent and the vibe is a bit rustic but traditional. We will have a mobile bar that is a converted horse trailer, some bonfires and smores. We will be dressing it up with an elegant tent and floating candles in the pool. We will have lots of greenery around the tent and candlelight.”
It was also noteworthy that the bride’s mother owns her own bakery/dessert business called the Cookie Tray. All of the desserts at reception were made lovingly by her mom which was such a sweet touch!
“We met in a local bar on St. Patrick’s day and 5 years later he proposed in the same bar. 🙂 We love outdoor adventures.”
