Kim & Christine had a destination wedding originally planned before covid hit. Plan B at Skytop Lodge in the Poconos turned out to be everything they needed and more.
Since the original destination wedding plan meant keeping the guest list small to begin with, Kim & Christine didn’t have to change their plans too much. No matter what, their day was meant to be an intimate ceremony. They really lucked out in the sense that they didn’t have to go through the difficult task of uninviting 100+ guests. Everyone who needed to be there was there. Given the low-key nature of the day, we were able to spend way more time doing portraits of the couple alone. Skytop Lodge offers so many amazing places to shoot. They shared their first look in the center courtyard. Then we hopped on the private transportation provided by the lodge. It’s the only way to get to the secret, hidden waterfalls! If you’re getting married at Skytop, you absolutely must make time to shoot here!
We arrived back just in time for a few more photos of them in the lobby area seated by the gorgeous, Palladian windows. This was actually a really nice & restful moment before they each walked down the aisle.
The ceremony took place outdoors on the grounds of the venue with a short walk over to the covered, private outdoor dining area. Everything was personal and covid-friendly for their immediate family. Dinner followed by dancing and some heart-warming speeches closed out the night. By the end, Kim & Christine were beaming with happiness. All they wanted to do was marry each other and even through covid, they were able to do it perfectly!
“Christine and I met at a brunch spot in Astoria, Queens. We intended on having a platonic relationship, but that went completely out the window 5 minutes after we met 🙂
Our favorite thing to do together is look up Michelin star dishes and recreate them in our tiny kitchen. A lot of our vacations are centered around following famous chefs and eating at their restaurants (one of our favorite restaurants and chef is Mariposa in Sedona, AZ by Chef Lisa Dahl)!
We can always binge watch The Office. The story line, the jokes, the characters. It never gets old!”
