Lauren & Justin had to change plans after covid hit, and hold an intimate, backyard ceremony in Robbinsville, NJ. It turns out, they had everything they needed and more.
The ceremony was performed in the garden of Lauren’s in-laws, by our own officiant, Rev. Maureen Jeffries! This woman is one of the best there is. If you need an officiant who will provide a heart-warming and personal ceremony, look no further.
Before the ceremony, the bride had a “first look” with her father, and then her husband-to-be.
Justin’s mother created a lovely tented space at their home in Robbinsville for the guests (6 ft. apart of course!) The “aisle” was lined with hanging mason jars filled with baby’s breath. A heart-shaped pergola was decorated for the couple to be married under. It was the most gorgeous August day, not too hot, and everyone was incredibly comfortable. For those who couldn’t attend, a laptop was set up in the back of the ceremony to stream for their friends and family!
After the ceremony, dinner was catered, a cake was served (made lovingly by the bride’s own mother), and they shared a “first dance” song. They still wanted to make this day as special as possible. The vibe they were going for was whimsical with a baby’s breath & twinkle lights. Lauren said she was especially thankful for her Mother-in-Law for making the day so special, and she was so excited to enjoy a beautiful day celebrating our marriage.
“Lauren and I had the same friend group in college but actually never formally met until after I graduated in 2014. I went back to visit my friends in college later in 2014 and we all took a train to Hoboken, NJ for a bar crawl. On that train is when we met up with Lauren and her friends. We hit it off immediately, but did not hang out after that bar crawl. I then went up to visit my friends in college another time in 2015 for a Fraternity event and Lauren was there. It was this time that we were able to talk even more and hit it off even better. But unfortunately, we still never hung out after that as well. Then finally during another bar crawl in Hoboken, we exchanged numbers and a week later I took her out on a date in NYC, and we’ve been together ever since.
We love music, one of the first things we had in common. We bonded over bands like blink-182, Brand New and other rock bands. We love going to shows, and always show each other new music we find.
We also hardcore binge Harry Potter, which is our favorite series (book and movies).
We also love walking around our [former] town in Jersey City and Hoboken going to farmers markets, and fitness is a huge part of our relationship.”
