Botanical April Wedding: Stone House at Stirling Ridge

Kirsten and Michael’s botanical April wedding at Stone House at Stirling Ridge was a vision!! As a certified crazy plant lady myself, I was OBSESSED with Kirsten’s idea. Not only did she have florals by A Touch of Elegance, but also hired Sam + Matt from Spotted Leaf Plant Company to fill the ceremony space with TONS of greenery. It was like walking into a greenhouse, which was fitting because we did their engagement session at a greenhouse and botanical garden. We all welcomed Spring with the sight of plants everywhere inside the Lodge at Stone House!

Shout out to the planner Kelly Seca of Gifted Events, we’ve worked with her several times and any wedding run by Kelly goes off without a hitch!
The bride’s dress was Essense of Australia – Martina Liana from Kleinfeld Bridal. The bridesmaids wore Revelry in sage green. The suits were from Men’s Wearhouse.

Botanical Wedding Vibe

Vibe: Boho, Modern, Organic decor with plants/small florals
White flowers, light pink flowers, bunny tails, greenery including eucalyptus and vines.
Bridesmaids Dresses: Sage Green. Season: Spring.

The bride and groom prepped at the nearby Embassy Suites Hotel. Kirsten and Michael shared their first look outdoors in the venue courtyard where the cherry blossoms were blooming.

The ceremony was originally intended to be outdoors, but we were graced with some typical April showers. So instead, the ceremony took place inside the Lodge, which was cozy and even better in our opinion! The abundance of plants lined the aisle and surrounded the guests. The ceremonial tree planting just made sense in this context, and the couple managed to bring the outdoors inside!

Tell us about yourselves!

“We met through my best friend Cat! We are the kind of people who love to do everything together. In our spare time we play a lot of chess, video games, hang in our backyard with our dog, go on walks, hang in the park, and go to hockey games. We both like to garden, grow our own food and care about the environment. One of our favorite things to do is to visit a new city for a weekend, go to the home team hockey game and explore good eats, bars, and nature. We like to go with the flow and be stress free. Plants are my thing and hockey is Mike’s thing although we both share a love for them. We also have a dog that we are obsessed with named Amour.”
