What’s better than a Fall family session at Bayne Park in November? A surprise Winter family session in the middle of November! Ok but seriously, I’ve been photographing the Kerwick’s Fall family session for years. We scheduled in October but plans changed and we all rescheduled for mid-November. Then the huge snowstorm hit. Four days before this shoot, a massive, freak snowstorm hit NJ and knocked any last leaves off the trees and brought 5-8 inches of snow with it! Sure, they were probably going to use this for their Christmas card anyway. But, it really was supposed to be a Fall shoot! Sometimes you just have to roll with the punches. We embraced the snow, pine trees, holly bushes… and the cold!
The two boys I’ve watched grow over the last few years were great sports. Their poor little noses turned red in the 40 degree weather and after a while they just had to put their coats back on. I’m definitely so glad with the way this session at Bayne Park unexpectedly became a winter shoot. I just love this family so much, you could photograph them in any weather and they would still look perfect! After some breaks in the car to warm up and some peppermint candy as a reward, this shoot was a wrap! Goodbye Fall, hello Winter!
