When the groom-to-be is a horticulture student at the New York Botanical Gardens, where else would you go for an engagement session? Frank and Lisa took us all around the NYBG in the Bronx with an insider’s look. Frank was able to educate us on some information about the different plants and identify them skillfully. We were so impressed. I mention a lot on Instagram that I’m a crazy plant lady. Steve and I have filled our living room / dining room with plants and ultimately want to turn it into a jungle. We were so excited to learn from Frank’s extensive knowledge!
The best part of this session was actually afterwards. We had parked by Lisa and Frank’s home so we could all ride over to the New York Botanical Gardens in one car. They invited us inside afterward and we met their adorable minskin cats and fell absolutely in love! As we sat and talked, we were really inspired by Frank’s story. He told us all about his previous corporate job in Manhattan. Explaining how miserable he was for years, this is how he came to find he wanted to leave it all behind to study horticulture. We could tell he was a much happier person for it and his relationship with Lisa is stronger than ever.
For that reason, we love getting to know our couples on a deeper level. We can’t wait for their wedding at the Overlook Lodge at Bear Mountain Inn this coming Spring!
