Joanie and Chris’ wedding at The Refinery at Perona Farms in Andover, New Jersey was the best way to kick off the countdown to Christmas! Just 9 days before, to be exact, and there were holly & juniper bushes outside, lit trees in the foyer, and a cozy feel inside The Refinery.

These two are SERIOUS about Christmas. In case you missed their Christmas engagement session at Hidden Pond Tree Farm, there were Christmas PJs, hot cocoa and their ADORABLE corgi Maple in a radio flyer wagon covered in a holly garland. This time, they had to up their holiday cheer  – but of course, keep it classic.

Wedding Details

The vision for the day was fun like their engagement session, with a little moodiness and colors highlighting their wintry Christmastime wedding. 🙂 These two fell in love with The Refinery as soon as they saw it, and it has great interior spaces in case of inclement December weather!

The bride’s dress was Stella York from Brides by Young NJ and the bridesmaid dresses were cranberry colored Azazie & Matron of Honor wore a dress by Windsor.
The groom’s suit was from Indochino and the boutonnieres were accented with little cranberries.

They each prepped on site, as well as held the ceremony and reception there, too which always makes for a stress-free day. There was a first look, which took place in the tree-lined orchard. Which was great because the sun set earlier at 4:30pm and we got all of their important photos done early so they could enjoy their cocktail hour with their guests. And the food at Perona is not to be missed!

The vibe was romantic-holiday, easy-going and laidback.

Some key moments for the ceremony included Maple coming down the aisle and having her own dog bed. Additionally, they incorporated the cord and veil tradition.

“We met online in 2015. Joan is a nurse and Chris is a therapist. We love our families, friends, hockey, delicious food, Halloween, Christmas, and dogs.”
