Michelle and Joe had their Star Wars themed wedding during the fall at the Ramsey Golf & Country Club. This theme was extremely important to them, since Star Wars is one of their biggest obsessions. We have to say, they kept it romantic and formal like a classy wedding should be, with the perfect amount of Star Wars elements thrown in.
The color scheme was navy and gray. The ceremony was outside on the golf course with the lake glistening reflections of the fall leaves in the background. The bridal party included one flower girl who dressed as Princess Leia down the aisle and the ring bearer dressed as Han Solo. The bride’s nephew dressed as R2-D2, the bride’s brothers and mother represented Stormtroopers and their dog Teddy was Chewbacca. The bride’s other brother played guitar during the ceremony entrances; we love that they included all of their family members in different ways!
The coolest part of the whole entire day had to be Michelle’s surprise for Joe during their first look. We want to let the photos speak for the moment, but to give you the gist: Michelle hired professional Cosplayers from the 501st Legion to tap Joe on the shoulder first at their first look before he saw Michelle. Joe had no idea it was coming! When he turned around, instead of seeing his beautiful bride, he was greeted by Darth Vader and his Stormtroopers. They stayed for the ceremony and through cocktail. The guests had so much fun with it. We have to admit, we were geeking out just as much that they were there. It was also a little intimidating to have Darth Vader’s heavy breathing next to you while trying to concentrate on taking photos. It honestly had us a little shook. We dare you to look through these photos without hearing “Bum bum bum bum bum-bum bum bum bummmmm.”
There were light-saber bouquets for the bridesmaids and regular light-sabers for the entire bridal party during entrances. They held the light-sabers to form an arch as Michelle and Joe entered reception. The bride’s cousin is an artist and created centerpieces and decor unique to their Star Wars theme. He also painted a Star Wars seating chart with a portrait of the couple. Our own good friend Dave even created their Star Wars Saga invitations and signage!
We ended the evening with a night-shot outside while Michelle & Joe kissed and held light-sabers. Last, but not least, there was LOTS of amazing dancing and a conga line!
