Ali & Evan’s Springtime wedding at Roxiticus Golf Club in Mendham, NJ was a spectacular day. This couple has weathered a lot of long distance throughout their relationship due to Evan’s ranger training and deployment. We were so excited that they were finally gathering all of their friends and family together back in their home state of New Jersey to celebrate their union. The day began with Ali’s best girlfriends and mom helping her get ready and ended with a GLORIOUS golden hour sunset and pork rolls – or Taylor Ham, egg, and cheese if you’re from North Jersey like us. 😉 …. *Cue the debate.*
The bride’s dress was Martina Liana Bridal by Essense Of Australia from I Do I Do Bridal in Morristown, NJ. The bridesmaid dresses were from Show Me Your Mumu and the groom’s suit was from Indochino. The vibe was modern with a color scheme of black, white, and gray neutral colors. Florals were mostly white with greenery and some blush pink accents.
The entire day went off without a hitch thanks to the amazing planner Kasey Koblick-Ferrante from The Wedding Plan & Co. She was SO professional AND fun to work with!! The day began with bride’s prep at Delta Hotels by Marriott Basking Ridge and the groom prepped at Somerset Hills Hotel, Tapestry Collection by Hilton. The sweet ceremony was held at the Church of Saint James in Basking Ridge, NJ. While there wasn’t a typical first look, we love that these two kept things more traditional. After all their waiting, we think Evan’s reaction as Ali walked down the aisle was worth everything. We had plenty of time for photos in between before the reception kicked off with a live band and outdoor cocktails at Roxiticus Golf Club. This venue offers beautiful surroundings and views of a mountainous landscape.
“We love to describe our wedding vibe as romantic, elegant, and simple. We are not a flashy couple, we like understated elegance and enhancing natural beauty. Our colors are white, blush, greenery with hints of gold. We are getting married on memorial day, so still Spring! Our venue is a beautiful country club and we want to play off the vintage vibe by adding lots of flowers, lush greenery, and candles to make it feel intimate and romantic.”
Some special touches included a custom-made ladder by Ali’s father that held the signature drinks and champagne. The guests were greeted as they arrived by this greenery-covered ladder adorned with drinks – we can’t think of a better use of decor!
There wasn’t a traditional guest book, instead guests took Polaroids and hung them on a large mirror in the foyer.
The florist Peonies to Paint Chips created an “Instagrammable moment” in the formal dining room (where cocktail hour and dessert was set up). This included a vintage couch and chair set surrounded by lush greenery and flowers. It was a modern version of a “photobooth.” and a great photo-op for Ali + Evan and their guests.
Fortunately, it was a beautiful day at the end of May outside and Roxiticus Golf Club provides an open style setting for guests to sit both indoor & outdoor. A nice touch was that the couple had two sweetheart tables, both inside and outside so they could interchange sitting with all of their guests.
Finally, a late night food truck, Jersey Roll Food Truck, provided pork roll (*or Taylor Ham – lol), egg, and cheeses to all the guests! The couple split one at the end of the night, which was also a great photo-op! (And we may have eaten one, too).
“Evan and I met on Hinge when I lived in Atlanta and he was at Fort Benning, GA for his ranger training. Our first date was drinks that turned into dinner because we couldn’t stop talking. The day after, Evan told his best friend that I was marriage material. 🙂 We have been together for two years [prior to getting engaged] which included long distance dating when he moved to North Carolina and a surprise deployment on New Years Eve. These trails only confirmed we were meant for each other. We can’t wait for this next chapter in our lives!”
Congrats again to Mr. & Mrs. Collier!
