Danielle and Jeff had their Springtime wedding last May at one of our favorite New Jersey venues, Rock Island Lake Club in Sparta, NJ. The color scheme for Spring consisted of different shades of blue. The bride’s dress was BHLDN and the mismatched blue bridesmaid dresses were Birdy Grey. The groom’s suit was from Men’s Wearhouse. The overarching feel was a fun Spring, lakeside vibe with “rustic-elegance.” They chose Rock Island because they loved that everything is in one place, they knew the exceptional staff would take care of them, and who could beat those lakeside views?

Don’t Rock the Boat!

As you scroll to the end of this post, we’d like you to play “Rock the Boat” by The Hues Corporation. Since both parents hailed from Ireland, and the guests included a big group of Aunts, Uncles and Cousins from Ireland as well, there was a bit of a tradition that took place. We’ve personally never seen this tradition, but it was incredible. Everyone got on the floor in “boat” formation and there was a whole choreographed dance move of tapping the floor and clapping. It was hilarious, joyful and this song played TWICE.

Danielle prepped on site in the bridal suite and Jeff got ready at nearby Hilton Garden Inn Rockaway, then hung out downstairs in the groom suite at Rock Island Lake Club before the first look. We then did a first look by the dock, then photos with bridal party and family, cushioning time before guest arrival. We love when Spring begins because the sun does not set until 8pm and cocktail at Rock Island Lake Club is approx. an hour and a half. We were able to pull the couple out again during golden hour by the lake. It was a beautiful day celebrating Danielle and Jeff with all their loved ones at Rock Island Lake Club!
