Jake and Joy chose to do their engagement session at Hartshorne Woods Park last Spring. Which, if you’ve seen our previous posts, you know how much we love this place. As the earth fully thaws in May, it’s a nice welcome to the on-coming summer months when we visit this park for a session. Now, it’s impossible to talk about Jake and Joy without saying this was quite literally the most JOYFUL session. They both expressed their reservations and nerves about being in front of the camera, which is something we hear from 99.9% of our couples. And our mantra is always “you don’t have to like having your photo taken, you just have to like who you’re taking it with!”
These two took our advice and ran with it. They started out great, in our personal opinion, but expressed they were feeling timid. By the end, the were embracing each other with love, fun and romance. We love to see the progression of our couples feeling more at-ease as the session goes on! They were naturals by the end, and it helps they already had such great chemistry. Don’t think about “posing” or “modeling” for us, because that’s not what this is about. This is simply about having a good time together, like a date-night.
We can’t wait for their wedding is coming up this April 2023 at David’s Country Inn!
