Taylor and Steven had the ultimate winter wedding at the Perona Farms Refinery. When you choose December, it’s not always certain what the weather in the early part of the season will bring. We wish every single winter wedding would snow the way it did on their wedding day! If rain is good luck, then snow like this must be superior luck!
Taylor got ready at a nearby Airbnb, and it was probably only a 10 minute ride from the venue. A memorable moment was an exchange we had on the ride over. I (Jen) hopped in the party bus with the bridesmaids from the Airbnb to the venue. The snow was just starting to pick up and the girls had to be extra careful walking outside onto the bus. The driver had to go extra slow, and Taylor turned to me and said “how are we going to take pictures in this?!” I merely chuckled and said something along the lines of, “We’ll do what we have to do!!”
Obviously safety comes first. And if it was a serious blizzard outside we wouldn’t have forced anyone to do outdoor photos, and then we just have to get creative indoors! But the snow went from heavy to just a consistent, steady snowfall. Literally, it was perfect for photos. We were SO glad Taylor and Steven were good sports about it and stood in the snowfall! We eventually made our way inside and used all the interior spaces we could. However, it didn’t stop us all from whisking them outside immediately following the ceremony for a night shot in the snow!! Then we remained indoors for the rest of the wedding and honestly it couldn’t have felt cozier.
The Perona Farms Refinery is a polished, industrial-modern environment. T & S wanted to keep it simple with ivories and greenery, no crazy color schemes, to highlight the space.
“We wanted a romantic wedding with winter elements, without having an overload of Christmas. Lots of winter greens, white roses, white hydrangeas and floating candles. We also have some elements of black within the linens and signage.”
The bride’s dress was Galia Lahav from Isabel O’Neil Bridal and the bridesmaid dresses were from Heboes. The groom’s suit was from Sew n Sew Bridal and Tuxedo.
We thoroughly loved everything about this day. Sure, it was a bit of a challenge getting everything done with such steady snowfall, but we think it just made the overall feel of the wedding day so much more intimate and cozy! And we love Perona Farms for all of the indoor options!
Cheers to Taylor and Steven!
