Matthew & Danielle persevered over many hurdles navigating the height of covid. After many months spent planning, postponing and postponing again, this couple officially tied the knot with a ceremony that was held right in their own backyard! Matthew and Danielle’s private backyard ceremony near Watsessing Park was the most perfect solution to their unique day.
Danielle did not stray from her original vision with an emphasis on flowers and a love of all things antique and historical. She even had an antique engagement ring (good job, Matthew!)
Although this day did not take place at their intended venue, which was a historical mansion, we personally think their home with all its personal touches was the most romantic setting possible. And before we talk about anything else, the most noteworthy part of this day was the fact that Danielle runs her own Etsy shop, Anchored Archer Jewelry, and she made – yes made – her own bouquet out of tiny, intricate beadwork. Now scroll down and look very closely at the photos of her bouquet. Thought they were real flowers? Yeah. Her bouquet was incredible. This bride is beyond talented, and she had been working on this bouquet throughout their entire wedding planning process. She first told us about it during our very first consult, but we could never have imagined how jaw-dropping it would turn out.
While the bouquet had some weight to it, we dare any bride to hold this bouquet and complain about regular flowers ever again. It was worth every tiny bead, though, and was simply a show stopper.
With a light drizzle in the air, we handed the couple our spare umbrellas and we walked across the street to Watsessing Park. This is where they would share their first look and cozy photos on bridge. We used to live in Bloomfield, and we never realized how scenic this park was! And being right across the street, we didn’t have to get in the car and drive anywhere. After portraits, they held their ceremony in their ornate, tented wedding space right in the backyard. The space was filled with vibrant florals, tall candelabras, garlands of greenery with chiffon runners across the wooden tables, farm chairs, a painted sign with (a few) rescheduled dates and a gorgeous cake with assorted tea cakes set on antique platters. This screamed Danielle. Every last detail was considered.
The private ceremony was also extremely sweet, as it was performed by Danielle’s former school teacher. This wedding ceremony was one of those moments where Steve and I felt completely honored to have had a voyeuristic window into this couple’s life. Their family and friends were welcoming and warm. Not all of their guests could be there, and we feel incredibly lucky that we were there to document this day for Matthew & Danielle!
