In the picturesque setting of Historical Waterloo Village, love was in the air as Sarah and Dean met with me for their engagement session. Embracing in the middle of the sunflower garden at sunset, this was the culmination of their love story before the wedding. Their journey led them from a meet-cute at the Courtyard Marriott near David’s Country Inn, to the threshold of matrimony planned for that same venue.

Love in the Service Industry

Sarah, the coordinator at the charming wedding venue (and one of our favorite places) David’s Country Inn, had her first encounter with Dean while they were both working together at the Courtyard Marriott. Little did they know then that their professional acquaintance would blossom into something much more profound.

Their paths diverged briefly when Sarah moved on to nearby David’s Country Inn, but fate had other plans. Dean, captivated by Sarah, reached out to her after she left the Marriott. Their connection reignited, and soon their bond grew stronger than ever.

How did you get engaged?

The magic moment arrived on a December evening, the day after Christmas. Sarah, unsuspecting, found herself in front of the twinkling Christmas tree, surrounded by the warmth of the holiday season. As she opened one last gift, a QR code revealed itself, prompting her to scan it. To her surprise, the notes of a Vance Joy song filled the room.

With bated breath, Sarah turned to find Dean on one knee. In that moment, with only the two of them amidst the holiday cheer, Dean asked the question that would change their lives forever. And, of course, Sarah said yes!

A Perfect Golden Hour in August

When they joined me at historical Waterloo Village, the cobblestone paths and historic buildings paved the way for these two to dance in the last sunlight of the day. Embracing in the gardens, surrounded by sunflowers and snuggling by the firepits – it felt like Sarah and Dean were the only two people on Earth.

With their wedding day approaching this October, they eagerly anticipate exchanging vows at David’s Country Inn, the very venue where Sarah’s professional journey intertwined with their love story.

As the sun set over Historical Waterloo Village, casting a golden glow upon the old buildings and lush greenery, Sarah and Dean embraced each other, knowing that their love was timeless, destined to endure through the ages. Together, they popped champagne at the end of the session in celebration. And in that moment, surrounded by history and boundless love, they knew that their journey together was only just beginning.
