We still feel so honored and privileged that we could be a part of Chloe & Jacob’s kick-ass destination wedding in Mexico at the scenic El Dorado Seaside Suites by Karisma! Located between Cancun and Tulum, in the Puerto Aventuras, Quintana Roo area, the resort’s waters are calm and clear. The type of beach where you can sit in the water with a drink in your hand and not move for an entire day. And that’s just what we did (except when we were working! haha!)
So how did we come to fly all the way to Mexico for this wedding? Well, despite the fact Chloe and I actually share the same last name – there is zero relation! (Trust me, when we first spoke I started running through our family trees). Chloe & Jacob simply chose us for their originally planned wedding in New Jersey. A few months into planning, these two made the switch to a destination wedding and asked us if we’d still be on board. We didn’t even have to think twice.
After their engagement session, we knew these two would be down for an adventure. And there’s nothing that makes us happier than telling a love story of the madly & wildly in love. And that’s Chloe and Jacob.
A destination wedding with boho-chic elements! A Springtime wedding in April with Summer vibes. The colors are tan/sand and sage. Lots of white flowers and eucalyptus in the bouquets and in decor. The bride’s dress was Pronovias from Jaehee Bridal and the bridesmaid dresses were a sage color from Birdy Grey.
Chloe & Jacob just wanted to escape to the warm weather closest friends and family to celebrate tying the knot! We couldn’t have been more excited to document it all!
We were also excited to work with their videographers Boomer & Sarah from Multiply Media! They were so fun to hang out with during the course of this trip and they are so good at what they do. They have a good time and love to let everything unfold naturally. It was a killer team and we hope to cross paths with them again!!
DO get there early and stay after. Encourage your friends & fam to do the same. It should be a week long celebration (at least) to make it all worth the trip!
DO make sure your bridal party & family all have their passports up-to-date (since covid, passports must not be within 6 months of expiration when travelling internationally!)
DO hire a travel coordinator to help with logistics (I.E. helping guests navigate the shuttle to and from the airport).
DO have groom + guys head out to the ocean for some fun beach pics in the AM. SO much more fun than watching everyone sit around in basketball shorts and drink beer lol.
DO a “trash-the-dress” at the end of the night! Scroll to the end to see the magic + chaos. This was SO fun. What can be better after a sweaty dance party than jumping into the ocean at night?!
DON’T: Sweat the small stuff, invite *too* many people (keep it intimate) and don’t sit around indoors – get out there and enjoy the heck out of it!!! That’s all we got, lol.
We could go on and on about this experience but we’re going to go ahead and let the photos speak for themselves. Chloe + Jacob, any time you want to run off to a warm climate and renew your vows, we’re so there! Haha!
