Frances and Frank shared an elegant, classic and romantic Spring wedding day last April at Seasons Catering in Township of Washington, NJ. They were married in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Cathedral by Rev. Msgr. Geno Sylva, which was significant to their relationship because he was the priest at the high school they both attended growing up! The bride’s dress was Justin Alexander from I do. I do. in Morristown, NJ, the bridesmaids dresses were from Azazie and the groom’s tux was from Cozy Formal Wear in Morristown, NJ.
We say it all the time, Steve and I love a quirky and alternative wedding. HOWEVER, sometimes a classic and timeless wedding hits the nail on the head and we swoon just as hard. A well-fitting black tux, a simple color palette of greens, ivories and blush tones and a sleek wedding gown is the perfect balance of elegant simplicity. We also loved that Frances’ bridesmaids wore black as well which added an upscale, black tie vibe. Seasons is a more traditional venue in Northern, NJ but upon closer inspection it has many interesting backdrops to work with. We particularly loved the topiary maze of bushes, creating leading lines for our couple to stand within.
When we first spoke to the couple, they said they could have easily been fine with a small-scale backyard wedding, but they wanted to choose a place that would make things easy and be efficient for their guests. They chose Seasons for its close proximity in Northern, NJ and for the ease of logistics. They also attended a wedding there and felt the staff was on top of their service – and the food is great, too! Seasons is comfortable, professional and they had the peace of mind that things were running smoothly.
Frank’s Mom died suddenly in 2017 and there were many tributes to her. There was a special floral arrangement in the church pew in her place. Frank did a special dance at reception with his Aunts to honor his Mom. Her absence felt more like a strong presence with all the ways they mentioned and honored her. We never had the pleasure of meeting Frank’s mom, but we could really feel what a kind soul she was, as well as loving mother and wife to her family.
The reception at Seasons kicked off with one of our favorite DJs, Bryan Festa of Elegant Music Group along with a touch of live music with a talented violinist and saxophonist. This crew could party the house down. We loved seeing all of the emotional joy and happiness that brought these two and their families together on this day. Congrats again to Frances & Frank!
“We went to high school AND college together (started dating later in life as adults). Msgr. Geno was the priest at the high school both Frank and I attended.”
“Frank and I met in high school although we didn’t start dating til after college. In our spare time we love cooking together with our special ‘cooking playlist’ going in the background and we also love spending time with our golden-doodle, Sophie. The most recent show we binge watched was Giada and Bobby take Italy! We took a trip there last October and watching it made us dream about the next trip we want to take there!”
“In Cape May, at Congress Hall with closest friends & family present.”
