Dana and Teddy’s Summertime wedding was a long time coming. They finally shared their day after multiple covid postponements at Kolo Klub in Hoboken New Jersey.
The bride’s dress was lovingly made by the bride’s childhood friend (who happens to be a costume designer) and we thought this was such a sweet, personal piece of the day! The bride prepped with friends at their home in Jersey City, while the guys got ready in a friend’s apartment – also in Jersey City.
“Since this is like the 10th time we’ve moved our wedding (a large exaggeration, but feels like years since pre-pandemic haha), we have decided we want the vibe of this to be a bit different. We feel more like we’re celebrating a party than having the big wedding we originally planned, plus we did get legally married in July 2020. We just don’t want everything to feel so formal – more of an eclectic, party vibe… a celebration!
We’d like to ask family & close friends to come early to take photos with us, hopefully catch some skyline and/or sunset shots. The reception will include a brief, informal vow renewal at the beginning of reception, followed by cocktail hour, some speeches & first dances before dinner. Then just general party merriment. We anticipate it being a very active dance floor and look forward to all the hilarious photos that will ensue. But overall, the day will feel a bit more casual, which we think fits with the venue.
As far as decor, we’re definitely leaning into the casual & rustic, industrial vibes going on in there. We’re going to let a lot of the space speak for itself. We aren’t really doing any flowers, just some greenery. We’ll be covering a lot of the tables with butcher paper & painting some kind of funky designs on them.”
We think they did a perfect job of letting the day unfold naturally. Dana and Teddy allowed everything to just be simple, and just enjoyed the ride of finally celebrating with friends and family after such a long wait.
“The two of us played on an intramural volleyball team at Drew, but started to date following graduating in 2014. We currently live in Jersey City – take our Friday night coed soccer league too seriously, eat a lot of pizza and are excited to celebrate our wedding this summer with friends and family.”
