We absolutely loved photographing Jackie and Kyle at Skylands Manor in the NJ Botanical Gardens! They snatched up our last available November weekend opening for an engagement session and we were excited to have one last hurrah with the Fall foliage in the background. However, mother nature had other plans. The week prior to the shoot, the East Coast was hit hard with a massive snowstorm. It was on record with one of the biggest snowstorms ever recorded in November in New Jersey. What everyone thought would be a few inches, turned into a ton of snow that stuck around for days! (It caused the “great traffic jam of 2018” in NJ/NY). Since the wind conditions and heavy snow basically knocked the last of the leaves off the trees, we decided to forego the Fall theme and completely embrace the winter setting! It turned out to be magical!
It was so chilly! You would have thought it was the dead of winter. Thankfully Jackie and Kyle wore warm coats and brought a cozy blanket to snuggle under! We all couldn’t believe how much snow was still left on the ground. You may want to grab a cup of hot cocoa before you scroll through this post. See below for all of the cozy, winter vibes.
