We knew that choosing the Seaside Heights Boardwalk and Beach for this session was going to be perfect as soon as we arrived. Steph & Joey’s Summer engagement session in July had the perfect light and weather you want on the beach. Originally, we tossed around other boardwalk ideas along the Jersey Shore, but Seaside’s Casino Pier and Amusement Park was just right for this couple. These two originally met at a carnival when they started dating, and when Steph first contacted us about doing her engagement session we were endlessly searching for carnivals in the area. After coming up short, Steph suggested the boardwalk where there are rides & games, as well as the beach!
Steve and I never expect our couples to know how to be “models.” This is why we coax you into comfort and give you suggestions with some direction for posing. This shoot was a little different, though, because Steph is a working model and dancer. And boy, does she know her angles! She made our job SO easy as we wandered up and down the Seaside Heights Boardwalk. Steph expressed that she wanted this shoot to be a little more editorial than the average engagement session and we were super excited for the opportunity. Joey isn’t a model, but he worked it all on his own with his expressions and loving embraces. It goes to show you don’t need to be a model to know your angles!
After some time at Lucky Leo’s, the beach and Casino Pier, it was a wrap. Steph & Joey will be having an October wedding in 2020.
