Last May Ria and Frank asked us to photograph their engagement session at City Winery Hudson Valley NY and we were SO stoked. They booked us for their wedding (and as I’m writing this, it just happened this past weekend and was a total blast!!) which would also take place at City Winery. I actually loved the fact they also wanted their engagement session here, too, so I could familiarize myself with their venue before the big day!

Both New and Familiar

As soon as they had described City Winery to us, we knew we were SO IN. It reminded us of our own wedding venue so much. The vibes were all on point. We clicked right away. They also both do a degree of photo editing. Frank is also an architect and deals with real estate photography, as well as drones.

So their venue was new to us but felt so familiar. And this reflects our newly formed friendship with Ria and Frank. Ria had everything perfectly planned through the entire process. I felt like I was living inside her brain, hahah.

How did you meet/How did you get engaged? 

Both Ria and Frank hail from Wayne, New Jersey. He used to copy her homework, lol. As of 2023, they had reconnected 3 years prior. Now they are big travelers and are building a life together.

The day he proposed, Frank told Ria to get her nails done. He proposed on Spyglass Rooftop Bar, the same place as their first date, with a view of Empire State Building.

The session ended with wine and pizza down in the boiler bar and I may have treated myself to some ‘za before I drove home. Quite literally a PERFECT day of work, if you ask me. 😉

The big day just went down March 9th, 2024 at City Winery Hudson Valley and we can’t wait to share more of the full wedding day with all of you!!
