Shannon and Kevin’s romantic Rock Island Lake Club June wedding was a perfect day. We got to know these two pretty well during their engagement session at Cross Estate Gardens. It’s so obvious how at-ease they are with each other. They met in college and Kevin proposed to Shannon in Liberty State Park. The rest is history!

The Wedding Vision

“Our wedding vibe is elegant yet rustic and romantic/whimsical. I feel like Rock Island Lake Club speaks for itself! Not too traditional, but just a tad. I’m aiming to have a lot of greenery, flowers and floating candles. I LOVE white anemone flowers so those might be the center of our floral arrangements. The color scheme will consist of neutrals with pops of mauve/lavender, grey + blush. Season is still technically Spring, but kind of leaning towards more of a ‘Summery’ setting.”

This couple picked Rock Island Lake Club for its chill, lakeside vibes. They loved its modern, rustic elegance. It also reminded them of their family lake house they used to go to every year.

Shannon and Kevin prepped and held their ceremony on site. And they opted for a first look, which gave us plenty of time for photos before the ceremony. They were married under the archway outside by the lake. Cocktail hour at Rock Island is always an hour and a half, so needless to say this was an extremely laid-back wedding day for the couple.

Tell us about yourselves!

“Kevin and I met in college at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ). I was a sophomore pledging Delta Sigma Pi (DSP), a coed business fraternity and Kevin was already a member (he was a junior). We’ve been ‘official’ since December 3, 2014. Got engaged on Nov 4, 2018 at Liberty State Park. Every year we try to see a new Broadway show around our anniversary because prior to us dating, Kevin had never been to one! We both enjoy traveling, hiking/going on walks, chilling, eating and laughing!! We are still watching ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philly’ since the series is so long, but we recently watched Mad Men and Breaking Bad. I kind of got him into reality tv shows like Housewives of Beverly Hills- lol. But our go-to shows are usually comedy/action and we definitely watch a good amount of HGTV/Cooking shows. Kevin works in the Finance industry and I work in Digital Marketing.”
