Alex & Hannah’s late August wedding was nothing short of a dream; and what better way to celebrate the transition into the fall with Rock Island Lake Club‘s warm and rustic vibes?!

How did you meet & get engaged?

“We met each other in college during our first design class while studying architecture at NYIT. From being in the same friend group, to having the same class schedule, to spending countless late nights at school working on our projects, we spent A LOT of time together. We both were growing feelings towards one another but were too shy to speak up. It wasn’t until after our sophomore year in the summer of 2015 when we returned home from traveling to Italy together for a study abroad program that we officially began dating. It was inevitable that we would fall in love together in such a beautiful country. For the next 6 years we enjoyed learning more about each other by spending our time finding and experiencing new adventures. Fast forward to April 2021, we planned an unplugged weekend getaway at a cabin at Getaway House in the Eastern Catskills, NY where Alex finally popped the question!”

The Wedding Details

Think champagne, terracotta, rose gold, rust, and burgundy – a palette that brought the whole rustic, romantic feeling to life. They picked Rock Island as their venue because it’s woodsy, has a beautiful lake, and tons of fun photo spots, like the dock and swing. It was a total blank canvas that they turned into something magical.

Hannah’s Pnina Tornai dress from Kleinfeld Bridal was a perfect blend of elegance and timeless beauty. The bridesmaids rocked mix-match dresses from Azazie that fit right into the warm color palette, while Alex looked sharp in a burgundy jacket and black tux pants from Esquire Tuxedos, with his groomsmen all in black. The florals by Whisper & Brook were dreamy whimsical, free-flowing arrangements that felt like they were straight out of a fairytale, adding to the whole ethereal vibe.

Jack Bermeo of LJDJs kicked off the reception and set the perfect tone for an unforgettable night of dancing and good times with family and friends. The energy was high, the laughter was constant, and you could feel the love in the air. It was the kind of night where no one wanted the fun to end.
