Jockey Hollow Park in Morristown, NJ was the first place to come to mind when recommending spots for Jen and Ken’s engagement session. We were so excited when they inquired to us about their wedding, because they are getting married on Halloween this October! This is hands down, our favorite time of year to shoot a wedding. Jockey Hollow Park has the perfect amount of romantic spookiness (that’s a thing, right?), especially in the fall. The leaves had turned and fallen from the trees. The punchy greens of summer had vanished and gave way to the warm, golden tones of fall.
The vast meadows at Jockey Hollow are at their best when the sun is setting. There is a warm glow over everything in the park, and most of the cyclists and walkers have gone home. There is this secluded romantic feeling that puts you at ease. This couple brought a bottle of champagne to pop and share. And you absolutely have to scroll to the bottom to see Jen’s face when Ken pops the champagne. It’s priceless! A good champagne pop is hard to do, but always worth the try!
Jen’s red dress was a fantastic contrast of color amongst the barren trees. And it played perfectly off the holly tree where they stood underneath. These two, like most of our couples, expressed feeling awkward in front of a camera in the beginning, but we think they had amazing chemistry. We are so excited for Jen & Ken’s Hallowedding at The Wave Resort this October!
