Hartshorne Woods Park at the Rocky Point trail-head is now our new favorite place for engagement sessions! This place is so versatile and we are so grateful Amanda and Rob introduced it to us. There are hiking trails, meadows and a small secluded beach. We share the same wedding month as these two in October 2020 and we couldn’t be more excited to photograph their wedding day at Ballyowen Golf Club!
The sun setting behind the meadows made for a romantic stop at the beginning and end of the shoot. As we walked through the trail, the hill gets pretty steep leading to the secluded beach area. It’s perfectly fine going down, however heading back up can leave you a little short of breath. It’s noteworthy to mention this because despite some of the difficulties navigating around, it is so incredibly worth it. The secluded beach has these rocky walls that were almost reminiscent of the Arizona red rocks (or, as close as you can get in NJ). We might just be a little nostalgic for red rocks as we are coming up on a year since we’ve been to Arizona. Anywhere that reminds us of those amazing hiking trails is now a go-to spot.
When we arrived to Harshorne Woods Park, I didn’t really know what to expect. The terrain really changes once you head down the trail. Amanda changed into the most perfect flowy dress and pair of heels as her second outfit. As we were climbing up the last hill in the middle of the overgrown meadow, I paused and asked her if she’d like to take her heels off. The girl said she was totally ok and kept climbing up! Shout out to Amanda, the real MVP.
