Ashtin and Joe’s Historic Aldie Mansion wedding took place 14 days before Christmas last December in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. It was that time of year where everyone is really getting into the holiday spirit, and these two managed to incorporate the yuletide feel without going overboard. It was the perfect sprinkling of the holidays with twinkle lights and big Christmas trees all around the mansion.
The couple prepped at Homewood Suites by Hilton Doylestown, PA, located in Warrington, PA.
They held their ceremony close by at Our Lady of Mount Carmel RC Church, also in Doylestown, PA. It was not a full mass, short and sweet! When the ceremony was over we immediately jetted over to the mansion to take advantage of all the great photo spots before the sun went down.
The bride’s dress was Maggie Sottero Couture from Seng Couture and the bridesmaid dresses were by Revelry. Bridesmaids wore velvet, emerald green dresses along with coordinating groomsmen ties. The groom’s suit was from Men’s Wearhouse. Bridal Party was a nice size of 7 & 7 on each side.
“Classy Christmas! Emerald green with gold accents. Ceremony in a Catholic Church. Reception venue will be fully decorated for Christmas. We don’t want all of the photos to be Christmas-y, but it’ll be the overall vibe.”
The couple expressed interest in timeless & modern photos that felt true to their day. A little moodiness, but colors evocative of their wintry Christmas-themed wedding. They discovered Aldie Mansion at a Christmas craft show, fell in love with it and just knew they had to get married there! 🙂
Aldie Mansion itself has a stunning exterior, but the inside has endless portrait backdrops as well, from an antique stairwell to stained glass. Fireplaces were lit and the interior was tastefully decorated for Christmas. Entrance was adorned with a garland and a big Christmas tree greeted guests upon entry. A big oak tree in the back courtyard was lit with string lights and there was a balcony we used for photos, as well.
Since the church was only approximately 5 minutes away from the venue, we were able to take advantage of SO much time afterward. There was not a first look, so Ashtin really wanted to make use of ALL the interior and exterior spaces that Aldie Mansion has to offer. The sun didn’t set until 4:30pm, so we had time in between the ceremony & cocktail. What was really smart thinking on their part was ordering Chick-fil-A for the bridal party and family to eat in between photos!
“On September 14, 2018 in Morristown, we met for our first date. After our first dinner together, we walked down the street to The Green (a small park in the center of Morristown). We sat down at a bench to talk more, not wanting the night to end. This bench quickly became “our spot”. We returned there on our first Valentine’s Day together and again on February 29th, 2020. We had reservations for dinner but ended up getting to Morristown a little early. Joe suggested we take a walk to our spot. We walked through the green toward our spot, and as I turned to sit down on our bench, I saw Joe down on one knee.”
