Katherine & David were married last July at Friedman Farms in Dallas, Pennsylvania. After prepping at nearby Airbnbs, they shared a beautiful outdoor ceremony on the fields of the farm. Followed by dancing in the barn under the twinkle lights, a tented reception and a beautiful sunset on the hill called “Nuptial Point.”
This was our first time at Friedman Farms! It was absolutely worth the drive from New Jersey. Rolling Pennsylvania hills surround the farm and it’s just off the main roadway for lots of secluded privacy.
“Our wedding will be a rustic-elegant kind of vibe. We will be having it at a barn. The colors are different shades of blue: navy, steel blue and dusty blue with accent colors of gold, white and a lot of greenery!
We’ll use Nuptial Point on the farm for photos. It’s a private hill area on the farm surrounded by trees and views of the beautiful scenery. We’d love some portrait photos on the bridge that is at the barn as well.
We will be doing a lasso ceremony using a wedding lasso from Mexico. We will also be doing a sand ceremony using sand from Puerto Rico and Mexico. (where we are from!)
I (Katherine) would like to do a first look with my dad at the location where I will be getting ready. The Airbnb is on a lake and there are some nice trees in the backyard near the lake and it looks like a really pretty area to do this. After my first look with David, I would also like another “first look” but with both of my brothers. I want the first look with my brothers to be more light-hearted and just a fun surprise because I’m really close to them.”
It was noteworthy that Katherine & David did the traditional Mexican lasso ceremony and the sand ceremony. Her dress was also from a bridal shop in Puerto Rico! We love the nod to their family history in every aspect of the wedding day.
“We met in High School through a few of our friends, one of those friends will be the best man at the wedding. In our free time, we are very involved at our church (Liquid Church) and we lead support groups for men/women respectively. When we are together we love eating good food, and binge watching shows on Netflix. We just finished Jane the Virgin, and we are waiting for the new season of The Mandalorian on Disney Plus. David is a big car guy and sports guy, and Katherine is a very passionate teacher.”
