The one word we’d use to describe Nicole & Mike’s early September engagement session at Skylands Manor is: EFFORTLESS. These two were just so adorable, they took our advice and just had fun with their session!

Early September is also an extremely magical time for a sunset session. When Summer turns to Fall, the beautiful golden hour light at Skylands Castle in Ringwood cannot be beat! It’s warm enough for Summer clothes, but the evenings start to get a little cooler.

How did you get Engaged?

While vacationing in Punta Cana, the couple took a walk on the beach before dinner. Nicole’s sister and boyfriend were there, too, and start taking some pictures of them on beach when Mike suddenly got down on one knee. Nicole didn’t see it coming and it was perfectly executed so her sister could get the photo-op!

Tell us about yourselves!

“We met in high school, but didn’t actually talk to each other. I danced with Mike’s sister and we were really good friends. I actually drove Mike to school at one point but we didn’t speak to each other. Fast forward 6 years after graduating high school, Mike’s sister asked me to hang out. When I went over to her house Mike was there… we got to talking and the rest is history! In our spare time we love spending time with our dogs, going on walks, having date nights, doing house projects and binging new tv shows!”
