We knew we were going to love Catherine and Thomas’ wedding at David’s Country Inn long before the wedding day itself. Number 1, we love this venue. Some good friends of ours were married here, so we’ve actually been here as guests! And now every time we work there we get such a warm, fuzzy feeling. It’s such a welcoming, cozy space with a historic and rustic feel. We are so excited about the new renovations they currently have going on! Number 2, Catherine and Thomas are the type of kind-hearted souls you vibe with right away. We instantly knew we were going to love everything about the day. The vibe was classic romance with lots of candles! The theme was winter forest with pine cones/trees/needles, holly berries, and some snow-inspired decor (such as the really great mountains etched into the cake). The color scheme was pink, mauve, red, green, white, and gold accents. Her Watters dress had a vintage feel, which complimented the venue’s historic vibe.
David’s is expected to have some new renovations completed for this coming year, so they’ll have their own grounds to work with for photos soon! In the past, we’ve had to use off-site places for photos. But there are endless possibilities since Hackettstown, NJ is surrounded by so many wonderful parks! The couple chose Stephen’s State Park for their first look and we absolutely couldn’t have asked for a better spot. The brisk, January air made it a little tough to be outside for too long, but we were out there with just enough time to get some wonderful photos of these two and their bridal party by the stream. The one plus about a January wedding is that even mid-day, the light is golden and low. Unlike the summer when you have to wait until 6pm to get this kind of light, the whole middle of the day just has perfectly soft light. You wouldn’t even know how cold Catherine and Thomas were as they cuddled up together! They were so excited and happy to see each other, it brought us so much joy.
Listen, we don’t always recommend taking dance lessons prior to your first dance as husband and wife. However, if you’re going to do it – take notes from Catherine and Tom! We’re still so impressed. Scroll to the reception photos to see more! Congrats again to the newlyweds!
