Kim and Kevin are not only our friends, but a “legacy couple.”  Which means we photographed their wedding and now their budding new family! These two moved out of state but were visiting over the summer, so we planned a date in June for their maternity session at Cattus Island County Park!

This was our first time at Cattus Island Country Park, which is located in Toms River, New Jersey. It’s a bit far from where we are located in Northern NJ, but we picked a day that Steve and I could make a day of it and hang out down the shore! We’d definitely shoot here again because it was extremely awesome for photos. Expansive, marshy meadows surround a wooden path walkway. Timing the shoot right around sunset is key for the golden hour light.

We had so much fun catching up with these expecting parents-to-be on a warm, sunny Summer day. We ended the session near a private beach area and Kevin held Kim close on the dock as the last moments of sun faded away.

Since this session, new parents Kevin and Kim have welcomed baby Aidan into the world! We can’t wait to meet him!
