Emily and Grant chose Barnegat Light in LBI for their Summer engagement session. Any time we have an opportunity to head to Long Beach Island for a session, we jump at the chance! The light just hits different that far down in South Jersey. Originally we were going to meet up right at Barnegat lighthouse, but it turns out there are some sand dunes nearby in Barnegat Light itself that make for wait more intimate, private and romantic backdrops!

Of course, being the beach-lover that I am, I arrived down in Barnegat Light earlier in the day to catch some rays and hang by the water before the session. It was a BRUTALLY hot day. I was a little concerned for their comfort during the session later on, plus thunderstorms were looming in the forecast. SOMEHOW, we were incredibly lucky. The rain held off, the temperature cooled off a bit and we had the most amazing sunset over the sand dunes. Quite frankly, it might have been the most amazing sunset I’ve ever seen, ever. Again, you can thank the LBI summer light for that!

By the end, they jumped into the ocean and let the crashing waves wash over them. On top of that and the sunset that kept getting better and better, it literally felt like a movie scene.
