The Sandy Hook Bay is one of our favorite places to photograph an engagement session. And there is nothing like the summertime at the Jersey shore. We are currently writing this blog post in the midst of chilly March weather so we are going through some serious beach withdrawals. For those of you following our blog, you’ll recall our shoot with Kat at the Sandy Hook Bay. We were so in love with her portrait session. Later on, she referred us to her friends Kassie and Brian for their engagement session. When they also agreed to have it in Sandy Hook, we couldn’t have been more thrilled! Brian was home briefly between deployment, so we only had a small window of time to schedule this session and we really lucked out! The bay is so scenic with its sand dunes and inviting, shallow water you can walk right into.
We had very soft and golden end-of-the-day light. Kassie and Brian had such comfort with each other and it made shooting them absolutely effortless. I kept telling them they looked like the cover of a romance novel, lol. As the sun was setting, the light became more and more intense so we just continued shooting right up until the end of the sunset. Despite the super romantic vibe between them, we love the fact they still wanted to have their son present for some of the shoot. He’s such an important part of their world. We wouldn’t have had it any other way!
