Amanda and Adam’s engagement session at the stunning Van Vleck House and Gardens in Montclair, NJ was truly magical! It was a hot and humid day in July, but you’d never know it by looking at them. They were full of smiles from the start, and their easy connection made the entire session feel relaxed and fun.
The gardens were in full bloom, and at one point, Adam picked a flower for Amanda as we walked, which ended up being one of our favorite moments of the day! Their playfulness and joy radiated through every moment. By golden hour, the whole garden had a soft glow that added so much warmth to the shots. They danced, laughed, and ran through the fields, completely at ease, making it so effortless to document their love.
Van Vleck House and Gardens is a hidden gem in New Jersey. A historic estate, known for its twelve acres of botanical gardens, stone pathways, and a charming Mediterranean-style villa. With seasonal blooms, shaded alcoves, and open lawns, it offers countless scenic spots that act as the perfect backdrop for any photoshoot! In the summer months, the gardens are especially vibrant with colorful flowers creating a warm, romantic setting.
“We had a class together in college! We love to go hiking, fishing, and working out together. We just bought our first house together in Oakland NJ. We got engaged in Switzerland last summer.”
We are so excited to photograph their wedding at Rock Island Lake Club next July 2026!
