Becca & Dan had a black-tie-botanic themed wedding at The Conservatory at Sussex County Fairgrounds in Augusta, NJ. These two originated in the NJ area but moved out west to Iowa to live the true farm life. We were beyond excited when they reached out to us to photograph their wedding back home! They knew they didn’t want the typical rustic, barn wedding since that’s their day-to-day life now in Iowa.
The guys prepped at a scenic boathouse in Mt. Arlington, and somehow Dan ended up in a hat & cane from the previous night’s shenanigans (we aren’t complaining). We decided upon a first look at Sparta Glen / Station Park in Sparta, near where Becca got ready, for woodsy backdrops with foliage. When they saw each other, it was quite frankly too adorable.
The couple borrowed a friend’s 1950’s limo to transport them up to The Conservatory at Sussex County Fairgrounds… this was an awesome, vintage addition for photos! They were married in the glass conservatory room and we took photos after in the greenhouse. There are such unique backgrounds all around The Conservatory.
A graphic designer with a great eye for detail, Becca did almost everything herself. She made the guys their bow ties, the escort cards, the table numbers and the centerpieces. We loved how delicate the centerpieces of Floridian palms and other minimal greens worked with her black-tie-botanic theme. We loved photographing this wedding. Becca & Dan – We hope to catch you guys next time we hike out west, or meet you for a Taylor Ham Egg and Cheese next time you two are in NJ!
