Taylor and Jason’s Skylands Manor engagement session took place at the NJ Botanical Gardens in Ringwood, New Jersey. This place is amazing in the Fall, and they scheduled their session right at the end of October. The foliage peaked late last year, which definitely worked in our favor.

Skylands Manor is wonderful in the Spring for the sake of the cherry blossoms and by the summer, the gardens are fully in bloom. But when Autumn rolls around, the bursts of yellows and oranges with golden hour sunlight just can’t be beat! This fun-loving couple danced, twirled and laughed their way through this session. This is the kind of energy we’d like to bottle up and sell. Taylor and Jason truly make each other SO happy, it was adorable to witness.

Engaged on “This Old House”

These two have an extremely unique engagement story. When Jason proposed, he reached out to their favorite show, This Old House, to make them a custom wooden engagement ring. On the day of the proposal, they were actually featured on the show! Check out the clip below and scroll to see how the ring turned out!

Their wedding will be held at Grand Cascades Lodge, part of Crystal Springs Resort this coming October! There will be lots of fall foliage again that time of year, and they both actually do golf there. So it’s a special place for them!

Their Backstory

“Jason and I bought our first house together back in 2017, little did we know this old house would lead us to a proposal from “This Old House”…

Our 1911 Craftsman home was a scene straight out of the movie “The Money Pit” – everything that could have gone wrong went wrong. So Jason and I had to learn very quickly how to become “handy” which led us to binge watching This Old House (TOH) videos, where we fell in love with the cast and the show. This first house tested our relationship and proved what a great team we make.

Three years later and many DIY projects completed, Jason reached out to TOH’s Tom Silva and Kevin O’Connor to help plan a proposal which involved Tom handcrafting my ring on the show. It was the perfect way to symbolize our love story.”
