On the very last day of September, we met with Katie and Cam for their moody Autumn engagement session at The Castle at Skylands Manor. If you don’t already know by now, it’s obviously one of our favorite and most versatile places to shoot! The Fall is just amazing because empty and barren spaces suddenly turn into overgrown meadows. Color hues of yellows and oranges begin to pop through the greenery. There was a chilly mist in the air. It was the perfect setting for a moody session.

How did you meet/How did you get engaged?

On their four-year anniversary of togetherness, the couple was in Aruba during November. Every day, they’d wake up to enjoy their vacation around 7:30am. On their last night, they shared dinner on beach but they were so tired. Cam had a late-night walk on the beach after dinner planned. But by 9:30pm, they didn’t make it out on that walk on beach. Lol! Katie changed into her comfy clothes and was done for the night. So, being it was their last night, it was now or never! Cam got down on one knee right in their room! It was just the two of them, and we think that’s even more special. Katie and Cam met online while they were both seniors in different colleges. He was in Danbury, CT and she was in Fairfield, CT. But they went on four dates right away and knew it was destiny!

Tell us about yourselves!

“We met online in October 2017 when we were both seniors in college! We’ve been going strong ever since! We love to travel to different places, and plan on continuing to travel once we’re married! A few of our favorite places so far have been Washington DC, Los Angeles, and most of all Aruba! We got engaged in Aruba on November 15, 2021. It was a very intimate moment, both of us in our pajamas in our hotel room the night before we were leaving. Since we’ve been engaged, we’ve been wedding planning on top of moving to NYC!”

We are looking forward to their wedding this October at Indian Trail Club!
