Ari and Dara’s September wedding at The Meadow Wood in Randolph, New Jersey was finally the perfect day they had dreamed about! After postponing, they expressed that they just wanted to enjoy themselves and dance with their guests.
“The part of our wedding we are MOST looking forward to is a big, raucous Horah, so would love some great action shots of everyone dancing and us in the chairs!”
“We want our wedding to be as joyful, warm and celebratory as possible. Dancing is our number one priority. Especially after the pandemic, we just want everyone to really let loose and have a good time. Color scheme will include light blues (bridesmaids will be in varying shades of blue), and flowers are blue, green and white. Attire is black tie optional, but the groomsmen will be in black tuxes. Ari has our wedding date embroidered in his collar.”
“It will be a Jewish ceremony, 30 minutes long (Involving the Chuppah, stepping on glass, circling rituals, drinking of the wine, other Jewish prayers)”
Dara and the bridal party got ready at Bloom Salon in Morristown, but returned back at the Hanover Marriott to get into their dresses before heading over to the Meadow Wood. Meanwhile, Ari and the groomsmen were in a different suite at the Hanover Marriott getting ready. When we arrived at the Meadow Wood, we jumped right into the first look which was a lovely, private moment.
“Lily Goldstein is a very close friend of ours, and is a 4th year Rabbinical student. Rabbi Mary Zamore will be the legal Jewish officiant of the wedding, though is allowing Lily, under supervision, to conduct the majority of the ceremony to allow it to be more personal.” We think it’s so wonderful they had a close friend practice leading the Jewish ceremony for them, while being guided by the legal Rabbi who technically officiated. It was very clear that Lily was overjoyed to be performing this ceremony in honor of her good friends as she works toward completing her journey to become a Rabbi.
Some other touching moments included Ari’s father Sol and Dara’s father Peter saying the blessing over the Challah at reception.
Each set of parents together gave a short speech. Lastly, Ari’s brothers Benji and Coby (who were Co-best men) gave a short speech together. All of the speeches made were heartfelt and personal.
The couple cut the cake for photos off to the side, so they wouldn’t interrupt the band and dancing to do so. And it was a quite a party they had! Scroll to the end to see the Horah and chair lift moments!
