After we photographed her sister’s wedding three years prior, Julia reached out about us photographing her and her fiancé Bryce’s Sag Harbor wedding in the Hamptons. She described the day as an intimate ceremony, that would be taking place in the Spring at a family friend’s home by the water, an area that was special to them both. The vibe would be romantic, rustic and beachy. Color scheme would consist of muted tones with whites, golds and greens. After a year of not really going anywhere during covid, we were so excited to document this special day and make a weekend trip out to Long Island.

After rehearsing the night before at Ruschmeyer’s in Montauk, Julia prepped on site at this gorgeous 5 bedroom Hampton home. Bryce got ready nearby in East Hampton before their first look.

These two had a picture perfect first look, not far from where their ceremony would take place in a few hours. They were able to do all of their portraits together and then some family & friend group shots before the ceremony began. Being a more intimate affair, there wasn’t a formal bridal party but their siblings stood by them as best man and matron of honor.

A Private, Cliffside Ceremony with Ocean Views

This Sag Harbor ceremony overlooked the water and was officiated by a close friend. Guests were seated cliffside with expansive views. After a cheerful “I do!,” cocktail began poolside with passed hors d’oeuvres. The sunset burst through the tented reception and we whisked them away for 5 minutes of some last golden hour photos together in the end-of-day light. The party was quite literally a rager and everyone had a blast. 

Steve and I stayed through the weekend and checked out Havens Beach and explored the village of Sag Harbor. We fell in love with a coffee shop called Grindstone Coffee & Donuts, and we still occasionally order our beans from there! And before leaving we may or may not have stalked Queen Ina Garten, a.k.a. the Barefoot Contessa’s house. All in all, it was a great little working getaway. We can’t thank Julia & Bryce enough for the opportunity to document their amazing wedding day!
