Ryan and James’ August engagement session was a love story in the heart of Hoboken, New Jersey. With their sweet pup in tow, together we explored the cobblestone streets, old record shops, train station and the skyline at sunset.
James is a teacher and they’re both into anything with historical value. Which is why they chose David’s Country Inn for their wedding day. They wanted something a little different for their engagement session, more of an urban environment, with all the trappings of an area also rich in history. The streets of Hoboken, New Jersey, with the brownstones and cobblestones along the waterfront, was the perfect setting.
Amidst the tranquil beauty of Virginia’s Natural Bridge, Ryan and James, inseparable since kindergarten, began a new chapter of their lives together. Despite the rain painting the scenery with a misty hue and the bridge appearing eerily empty, it set the perfect stage for James, to propose to Ryan over his Spring Break. Their love, nurtured over a decade since their teenage years (since they were 15!), blossomed from a high school friendship into an unbreakable bond. As they stood hand in hand, the echoes of their shared history resonating, James popped the question. In that moment, under the drizzle of rain, they sealed a promise of commitment, forever intertwined.
“We met when we were young and started dating in high school. We have a doggie named Walt and after 10 years are newly engaged. We can’t wait to get married in June of 2025 at David’s Country Inn. We are going for a vintage summer garden party feel that is rustic but not country. We are pretty flexible with new ideas. We like the idea of Hoboken or somewhere else with cobblestone streets/the same city rustic feel [for our engagement session].”
These two had such bubbly and infectious energy with one another – we can’t wait for their David’s Country Inn wedding in June of ’25!
