We met up with Queenie and Yixi for their engagement session at Deep Cut Gardens in Middletown NJ. This session was one of the first real shoots we were able to do out of quarantine! It felt SO good to get out of the house and photograph something! We all maintained a safe distance from one another, and Steve and I wore masks when we got closer. It worked out really well! There weren’t too many people there wandering around, and the grounds are so expansive so there was plenty of room.
It’s truly crazy that we are even living in these times and have to approach photoshoots this way now. Queenie works in an E.R. so she is on the frontlines. Getting out and dressing up and spending time with Yixi was all she’s wanted. Not only was it amazing for all of us to get out of the house and meander around these beautiful gardens, but it made us all feel a little normal. By the end of the shoot, they both expressed to us how thankful they were. This session gave them something to look forward to during uncertain times.
As we get back to a *safe* semblance of normalcy, we know we’re not all the way there yet. We were touched that we were able to do provide an escape for someone and to help distract from the chaos, even for just a couple of hours.
Love is real and it’s the thing holding us all together.
We are keeping our fingers crossed for their wedding at Rock Island Lake Club this October!
