In May 2023 on a pleasant Spring day, I drove up to Scarsdale, New York for Maddie and Patrick’s engagement session at Sim Coe Beer Bar. I parked my car and my first thought was – what a cute little town!! I can’t believe I had never been there before. Book shops, coffee shops, sushi bars, ice cream shops, beer bars – what else do you need in a quaint downtown spot?! So glad Maddie and Patrick introduced me to this place!

Can I also add how much I enjoyed this session?!? The energy level was way up, Maddie and Patrick were down for anything I asked of them (I think the beer helped, lol) and the whole thing started with a beer bar and ended with ice cream. We even took some photos in front of Wilson & Son Jewelers, where Patrick bought Maddie’s engagement ring!! What could be better on a blissful sunny Spring day???

How did you meet/How did you get engaged?

Oct 8th, 2022 is what these two call their “kneel down date.” Also a nod to their 10/8/15 anniversary of togetherness. (Aww). Patrick had picked out the ring the previous April. When their anniversary fell on a Saturday, they booked a getaway cabin trip in Catskills. Next to a roaring campfire, they cooked ribeye and drank wine. Maddie had just woken up after a 6 mile hike and was a little exhausted so she didn’t see it coming!

Tell us about yourselves!

“We met our first-year in college at Western New England University – thank you co-ed halls!! We started dating in late 2015 and have been together since 🙂 Our engagement happened at a Getaway House in Catskills, NY in October 2022 – something we had wanted to do for a long time…to just disconnect in nature and spend quality time together! After saying “yes!” and eating some pancakes, we went on our first ever 6 mile hike..and crushed it…and saw some beautiful Fall foliage. In our spare time we enjoy soaking in the sun, trying yummy craft beers, watching a good TV series, and spending time with our cat, Rosie :)”

We’re looking ahead to this November 2024 and celebrating their wedding at Rock Island Lake Club!
