Hi! We are Jen & Steve, the humans behind The Fox & The Hare. Welcome to our little corner of the world. We work side-by-side, hand-in-hand to document your special day as you become one. Always in search of authentic moments, we strive to be as unobtrusive as possible. Allow us to tell your story as it unfolds in the most whimsical and honest way possible.

Based in the Northern New Jersey area and embracing the East Coast and beyond, The Fox & The Hare wants to document your story. We each have backgrounds in fine art photography and we’ve been photographing weddings for 8 years. I think we love wedding photography so much because we each are a bit voyeuristic. As in, we love to observe how other people live, how they interact, their social customs, their habits, recipes, etc. We learn something new from everyone we work with. The art of gathering to share a meal, celebrate an occasion and grab a drink is part of the human experience. We want to document it all. The gritty moments, the happy moments and the emotional moments. We want to be there for you, every step of the way.

Intimate gatherings & woodland settings are our favorite, but we will shoot anything and everything in between. If you summon us, we will come. {No matter how far!}

Two is stronger than one, so we always work as a team. We find it’s most productive to begin your day with the tail-end of prep, and stay at least until cake-cutting. This is why your wedding experience with us starts at 9 hours. We want to ensure we are there for all of the important moments. Having a smaller gathering? Tell us about it, and we can work out a different time-frame.

Timid and shy in front of a camera? Don’t worry, we actually are, too. We won’t do anything that makes you uncomfortable or doesn’t feel right to you. We strongly encourage engagement sessions so we have a chance to work together and you get a feel for how we shoot before your day. Contact us with any questions, we love chatting with someone new!

Jen has an affinity for portraits and details. When she’s not documenting weddings, she can be found using a medium-format film camera, seeking anomalies in everyday life. She is the “Hare” because she might be small, but she is quick and tries to be everywhere at once.

When Steve’s not photographing weddings, he can be found doing black and white street photography in NYC. He brings this fast-paced energy to weddings. His photographs make you feel like you are really present in the moment. He is the “Fox” because he is stealthy and cunning with his photojournalistic style.
